Does this scene look familiar to you? you have a tough day in office; the train journey back home too stops short of breaking your bones; sweat and grime become bosom pals. to make matters worse, you have to buy vegetables for dinner and there's no rickshaw in sight, forcing you to walk home. your mood is lousy, you feel depleted, and the world to you is one big hellhole. then some magic takes place. you reach home and your child comes running towards you. a toothless grin here and a hug-and-a-kiss there, and lo and behold! your weary legs no longer feel weary. that sweat'n'grime is hardly a bother...in short, your tired soul feels rejuvenated. you have just experienced the healing power of a child. children are the most powerful personalities on earth. powerful, spiritually and emotionally. have you seen the amount of attention that a child commands when it starts to cry? parents, grandparents, nannies...all try their best to pacify it, don't they? alternatively, when a toddler smiles, the world smiles with it. when it tries to babble, we all start to babble. when it waves its hands, we all wave our hands. we go to any lengths to make it smile, never mind if we look stupid in the bargain. would we ordinarily behave that way? no. but in front of a child, sab kuch chalta hai. what is it that makes a child wield such power? the answer lies in its aura. an infant's aura is bright. it's luminous and pure, except in situations when it is unwell. this can be partly related to the fact that, for a while, the baby keeps some of the light of the angels that have assisted it in the process of birth. in fact, the strong participation of the hierarchy of the angels in all that is related to birth makes a delivery a most fascinating experience of consciousness. it feeds the spirit of all those who are present. children see auras naturally. infants frequently look above the person in front of them. when they do not like the colour of the aura above the head, or if this colour is much different from their parent's aura, they cry, no matter how much smiling and cooing the person does. human aura gets coloured or discoloured according to our moods, attitudes, thinking, disease and so many other things...factors that are largely decided by our ego. when the ego is absent, the aura is bound to be clean. a powerful aura attracts and cleanses whoever it comes in touch with. that is why people flock to see spiritually evolved people. the latter's auras are so powerful that they attract people and effect healing. a child does not have an ego. for it, the value of a toy that costs rs 100 may be the same as a fistful of sand. it does not distinguish between the ``beautiful'' and the ``ugly'', the fair and the dark. a child's memory is momentary. you may have caused it to cry today, but tomorrow, all's forgotten, everything's forgiven. moreover, children are psychic. a simple and spectacular way to convince yourself of this fact is to remain very focussed in your third eye or ajna chakra while in the company of a baby. you will be amazed at how responsive the baby seems to be to any message you send through your third eye. children spend much of their time in the highly creative state where shapes are the primary language. a child's body reads straight lines, stripes and objects like venetian blinds, as fangs and claws. a curve or a circle is read as the shape of the mother's breast. those shapes do not threaten them. when a child smiles while sleeping, it is said to be speaking to god. it would not be wrong then, to say that a child is spiritually evolved. it would not be wrong either to take blessings from a new-born child the way we do from our elders. in fact, in many ways, very old people and toddlers are similar. they require support, are closer to god, and do not have an ego. going by this definition, they are both excellent vehicles for healing. try this out. when you are feeling low, play with kids. alternatively, be in the company of very old people. both parties provide wonderful healing experiences.
